Because Adventure is a Mindset

"Recognise your power to weave silver-linings and magic carpets"

Welcome

This is a place to explore the relationship between travel and psychology, and how an adventure mindset can support everyday wellbeing and personal growth. By adventure, I don’t necessarily mean the adrenaline-fuelled kind – although if that’s your bag, you’re welcome too. For the record, I’m a complete wimp when it comes to rock-climbing or bungee-jumping… but bravery comes in lots of flavours. I’ve got courage in some places, not others — and I’m guessing you do too, even if you don’t see it yet.

I’m Steph Hill, a 47-year-old lone parent, founding Director of a social wellbeing and personal-growth business, an international consultant on human-rights-based projects, a tsunami survivor, ex-narrowboat dweller, die-hard optimist, and committed adventure-weaver.

Travel and I have had a complex relationship. It nearly killed me. It pushed my mental health to its limits. It also healed me, gave me purpose, shaped my career, and helped me grow in every way as a human. And just when I thought I might be a seasoned traveller (whatever that’s supposed to mean), motherhood arrived and shifted everything again new insecurities, tighter budgets, and a whole new pressure to create as much magic as possible in my son’s childhood.

I built this space to bring together two core passions travel/ creating experiences and psychology, in a way that I hope supports and inspires you to find your own version of adventure, wherever you are.

Adventure Mindset

When I say an Adventure Mindset, it’s a way of packaging up a bunch of things really.

  • Gratitude for the extraordinary in the everyday
  •
